Through the commitment, dedication and constant development of the series by the drivers it has gone from strength to strength. Championship status for 2009 has now provided the icing on the cake and truly established Ma5da as the home of MX-5 racing in 2009. With large numbers of registrations, clear communication and substantial sponsorship the season is shaping up to be a revelation in British Club Motorsport. Who are Ma5da Racing.com?
"Driving the Change, Making the Difference"
Ma5da Racing is made up of a committee of MX-5 Drivers. These drivers are the founding group for the Series in 2008 and the Championship in 2009.
The aim of the Ma5da Racing Club is to run as a non-profit making club, giving value for money and providing a professional service to its registered members.
Where have we come from?
The Championship has been specifically design to allow all current MAZDA MX-5 1600 mk1 race cars to be eligible without major change from their 2008 race specification.
A Championship is only possible with its customers, the driver / owners. The drivers have consistently promoted their ideas, requests and suggestions to the 2008 Ma5da Racing Committee who in turn have listened and never failed to deliver promised changes.
During 2008 the Drivers enjoyed the benefits of clear communication, consultation and within only 9 months from the initial formation over 80% of the drivers had joined the 2008 Series, producing an average grid Size of 26 cars for the 16 races.
It was recognised by Ma5da Racing that the profile, marketing and promotion of the 2009 Championship to a new Driver base was imperative to its success. In order to assist this sponsorship was attracted and committed in order to provide full TV coverage, Driver Hospitality and all at no additional cost to the Drivers.
Brands Hatch in November 2008 marked the start of these enhancements. Full 1hour dedicated TV Coverage, Driver Hospitality and large crowds embraced the 2009 format put into practice.
