Championship Points explained

The Championship points will be awarded as detailed in the 2009 Sporting and Technical Regulations section 1.6 as follows:

1.6.1

Points will be awarded to competitors listed as classified finishers in the final results as follows:

        P1 = 100pts
        P2 = 98pts
        P3 = 96pts
        P4 = 94pts
        P5 = 92pts
        P6 = 90pts thus degressing by 2pts down through the results to the final position.

Additional Points

        Pole = 1pt
        Fastest Lap = 1pt
        Most Positions Gained = 4pts

        * "Most Positions Gained" is per race and is awarded to the person improving the most
        positions from Grid Position to Finishing position. In the event of a tie the person
        with the fastest lap will be awarded the associated points.

1.6.2 - Drop Rounds

The totals from all qualifying rounds of the Championship held, less 3 lowest scores will determine the final Championship points and positions.

Note: Race start points will not be subject to less 3.

Drivers excluded from the results for Sporting or Technical infringements may not use that (those) event (s) as discarded rounds for the purpose of Championship placings
