Sunday 25th May 2008 -
For the first time in more than a decade Mallory Park, played host to a two-day car racing event.
Sunday's programme, run in almost constant rain, opened with the second-ever Nippon Challenge round. Graham Poultney's Subaru Impreza charged into the lead but spun two-thirds of the way through the race. Tony Crossley's Mazda RX7 took over until an off at the hairpin brought the Mitsubishi Evo 5 of David Williams and the RX7 of Maxim Taylor to the front, with Taylor grabbing the lead on the final lap.
Despite starting from the fifth row later on, Taylor headed race two within a lap and a half. The MX5s produced enthralling scraps, with Jon Greensmith defeating Tom Roche to avenge his earlier defeat.
Monday 26th May 2008 -
Ian Wale (Caterham 7) added Sport/Saloon honours to his Sunday victory. On Monday a plethora of MX5s from Ma5da Racing series joined in, Jon Greensmith coming out on top following the late retirement of Andy Coombes.
