Former Porsche 924 racer Alyn Robson will return to racing in the new Ma5da Racing series within the Nippon Challenge at Silverstone at the end of April, nine months after breaking his right leg at the track (see Autosport, July 26 2007)
Robson, who co-founded the MaX5 Racing series and has been a prime mover on creating the new breakaway project, returned to driving behind the wheel of his MX5 at the track last month.
Robson said; "I was always keen to get back behind the wheel, and when I first drove down the national straight where I had the accident I did think about it! But I'm enjoying it."
Robson will be joined in the new series by raining MaX5 co-champion Jonathan Greensmith.
"It's a well run series," said Greensmith. "Although we're racing in a class rather than our own grid, it's a very good move."
