1st April 2010 - The all new Ma5da MX5 Cup set to follow in the footsteps of the current mk1...

...considerable uptake in less than 4 months.

The Ma5da Racing success story continues into the next generation of MX5 race car, the 2.0l MX5 mk3. Based exclusively on the 2.0l sport model, with GAZ shocks, Safety Devices Roll Cage, Klarius Exhaust and Rota wheels there are now currently 11 cars being built for the 2010 Ma5da MX5 Cup.

Although the economic climate still hangs in the balance with consumer confidence slowly returning to UK business, Ma5da Racing continue to go from strength to strength with the uptake of the new mk3. With 11 cars now in build we are expecting between 6-10 cars to flood the grid at Snetterton at the end of April for the inaugural Ma5da MX5 Cup races. This coupled with further commitment from drivers and profile race teams with strong sponsor backing is expected to roll forward to 25+ cars by the end of 2010 and capacity grids for the MSA Championship in 2011.

"I have been asked by many drivers what is it like to drive a mk3 in comparison to a mk1, the simple answer is it is almost identical in characteristics, but more refined and much faster, nearly 2 sec per min of track time quicker..."

-Jonathan Blake
Ma5da MX5 Championship Director

The car has been finely tuned through the winter months racing and testing at Zandvoort in holland and has already proven to be a strong match for 200+ bhp cars due to its corner handling and excellent mechanical grip.

Some of the mk3 MX5 will be seen at Mallory Park on Sunday 18th in the "Nippon Challenge" races in preparation for the inaugural race at Snetterton on 24th /25th April 2010.
